Is it actually air-gapped?
Yes by default. macOS firewall is pre-configured to block outbound traffic from the AI processes. You can opt in to cloud escalation per query.
What if the Mac mini breaks?
Apple covers hardware under standard warranty. We replace the configuration at no charge during year 1. After year 1, optional remote support is $99/month with no commitment.
Can I install this myself?
Yes — the whole OSS stack is at github.com/nicedreamzapp/claude-code-local (2,671 stars). The Box exists for people who’d rather pay to skip the install.
What models can it run?
Base: Gemma 4 31B + Qwen 4B/8B. Pro: all of those plus Llama 3.3 70B and Qwen 3.5 122B MoE. One-line config swap.
What about my data?
Never leaves your machine. No telemetry. No phone-home. After 30-day support window we have no access unless you ask.

No — we’re software, not accreditation. The compliance memo template is a starting point your counsel uses to make firm policy.

Why this exists
I run 8 local AI agents on my own machines for a small business in Arcata, California. The agents draft invoices, triage customer email, watch supplier networks, write daily briefings. None of them touch the cloud.
People kept emailing asking how to do the same for their law firm or therapy practice. The answer was always “here is a 2,671-star open-source repo and a weekend.” That answer is not useful to someone billing $400/hour. The AirGap Box is the version that arrives by FedEx and just works.
