What it is

Your follow list is full of accounts you forgot about. Let an agent unfollow them.

X became a wasteland for many of us because the people we followed years ago are gone, the algorithm is tuned to engagement, and we never get around to cleaning up. This agent drives your already-logged-in Brave browser, opens each followed account, decides if it's dormant or off-topic, and unfollows. Your session, your control.

395 dormant unfollows in 40 minutes on the test run. No credentials touched, no scraper, no API rate-limiting. The agent just clicks the buttons you would have clicked.

Why it's different

What makes x-cleanup-agent special

🔒

Your session

Uses your already-logged-in Brave. Nothing leaves your machine.

🚫

No API

X's rate limits don't apply because we're not using the API.

🧠

Smart filter

Decides dormant vs. off-topic vs. keep based on your actual interests.

Reversible

Keeps a log. If it unfollows someone you wanted, re-follow in one click.

Who it's for

Is this for you?

  • Long-time X users with messy follow lists
  • Anyone curating a feed they actually want to read
  • Devs who want to learn agent-driven browser automation
How to get it

Getting started in minutes

1

Open Brave logged in to X

Make sure you're signed in. That's all the agent needs.

2

Run the script

It connects to your Brave via Chrome DevTools Protocol.

3

Approve or override

Each unfollow shows in the terminal. Stop anytime.

For firms · Confidential workflows

Need this for a law firm, healthcare org, or anywhere documents can't leave the machine?

browser-agent runs the same on your firm's MacBook as it does on mine. AirGap AI is the commercial pilot — a 14-day engagement that ships browser-agent (and the rest of the local-AI stack) into a real legal/medical workflow with verified network audits. Privileged docs in, answers out, never a byte to a cloud.
